The Cabot Process

logo_cabot.gifWith the demand for new wood products and the development of new wood care technologies, Fraser Wood Siding now provides its customers with the latest in total wood care protection through its factory machine staining facility in Edmundston, New Brunswick.

The benefits of machine staining wood in a factory controlled environment have been well documented. R. Sam Williams, research chemist with the Forest Products Laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin, stated "Short term exposure of wood to the elements prior to painting drastically decreased the adhesion of paint. Previous studies have shown that in a qualitative way, long-term weathering of wood prior to painting reduced subsequent paint performance."

In conjunction with the coating professionals at Cabot Stains, Fraser Wood Siding produces premier quality factory machine stained wood siding and cedar shingles for North American and export markets.
